Comment : This is great! Where in Africa do people speak fon?

Comment : Hi Sandra- They speak Fon in southern Benin, West Africa. It's a small country between Nigeria and Togo. If you click on Maps- you'll see where it is.

Comment : Kou do azo! That is a great initiative that would get more people to certainly know more on that wonderful (and tiny) place in Africa. I am copying the url of your site to most people so that they visit it and get inspired as well!!

Comment : Chris you did a very fine job on the web site.
I don't know where you find
the time; you must not need 8 hours of sleep like me. I haven't had the time
to explore it thoroughly but I will. Want to read Rich and Famous on $6 a
day. Once again, my compliments on a job well done. Take care and stay in
touch. Ron

I just began to look through
your site this morning. Impressive!!! And brings back
tons of memories. I was on a Fulbright Teacher
Exchange program in Porto-Novo during the 97-98 school year,
teaching at CEG d'Application in P-N. The sounds of
"yovo, yovo bonsoir...." still ring in my ears.
I'm beginning to teach a small section on Africa to my
students here in Portland, Oregon, so this site will come in
handy to access any (other) information I might need.
I'll return later to look at other parts of your site.
Sincerely, Gene Solomon

: Bonjour Chris,

Great site. It must have took a lot of time to put
together a website like this. I am still having trouble
speaking English, I don't think I could ever learn how to
speak Fon! |

work here is great, my friend. Keep it up. You've told your

I was just checking out some web sites that have stuff to
do with Angelique, and i was amazed to find one on Fon! I've
been really interested in her language since I got into her
music... I've picked up on various words, I've even tried
learning some Yoruba and tried using that to translate!
They're very similar, so I could somewhat get the rough idea
of songs, but having actual Fon to use is so much better! Your
website has been very helpful.. especially that grammar
section. Most African languages have complicated grammar, you
need to know all the little rules before you can attempt to
learn the language. Your site is great, keep up the work! (Kudazo!)
From,
~Stacey T.~
