i reviewed your latest dvds, a continuation of your humanitarian efforts about republic of benin.It goes without saying that you did a very good job.i recommend that people buy these dvds,,after all the proceeds go back to the people in the footages.I think every african american in search of realities of the past should visit those places..bravo chris

We found your site before going to Benin it helped. We were able to say we had a little back ground when we arrived there. People were AMAZING, the food was to die for....ah and don't get me started on the kids, just great!

I must say that I have looked at your website a number of times. I'm in my second year of college and I've been hoping to join the Peace Corps since I was in high school. I stumbled upon your site after doing some research on Benin. I would love to travel there to do my PC work when and if I am accepted to the program. I'm hoping to use your site to help me acquire some of the language to strengthen my qualities for the application! My mom was born in Benin (Cotonou) but always wanted to live the occidental way, un-teaching us (her children) to the basics of our culture. Wow!! I just wanted to say your website is amazing! No one ever knows anything or has even heard of Benin before and then i find this amazing site! I spent 6 months in Benin with Mercy Ships (YWAM) 3 years ago...and too often i really do miss africa. 'Well, of course the best-intended efforts.... AFTER signing the guestbook on your site with what I thought was humor oh-so-clever, THEN I read the other entries. AAAAAUGH! sigh. I fear that some people may mistake my humor for denigration of the Beninese and their lifestyle. That was never my intention.. I was only making a tribute to the reality of your writing style.... Perhaps I am inviting trouble, and readers will understand my intent. I write back to you only because I do not want to cause you trouble. Your love of Benin and it's people is fully evident in all your writing and the monumental effort you have made in creating Fon Is Fun. Only a moron could mistake your true feelings for anything less than love and admiration for this remarkable country and it's people. I came away from visiting Fon Is Fun 0 and I spent a couple hours there over three days of exploring! with an appreciating for how resourceful and adaptive these people are, friendly.. and well, so many good attributes! At a time when others in Africa and the world EVERYWHERE are obsessed with violence and hatred and murder, Benin is an oasis to be cherished an nourished. I only hope that outside "help" does not spoil this treasure. I am keeping my fingers crossed that a little piece of Benin comes to live with me soon and you know who she is. I will be so honored to have even a little four-legged Beninese in my family!

Dear Chris - I have toured your website and enjoyed every moment. Your stories are well written and captivating - I WAS THERE, they were so realistic. Thank goodness, however, I emerged from the bush taxi wearing neither chicken poo nor goat urine,and somehow managed to avoid straining my back by letting the rest of you lift the car for tire repair efforts. whew! I will be visting soon the little dogs you so kindly sent across the ocean to your friends in Virginia. Great choices for a non-basenji man! Once back in the States, we will no doubt have to turn you into a show dog person sooner or later so you will know what all the fuss is about!
